The third Dutch Ferret Symposium
The third Dutch ferret symposium will be held on the 28th of March 2009, a day for all ferret lovers and a wonderful experience.
Date Saturday the 28th of March 2009 Place Pim Jacobs Theater in Maarsen (by Utrecht)
On this day, ferret knowledgeable people from Europe and America will be giving lectures, there will be many booths selling ferret related articles, there will also be other ferret organizations present. In the intervals there will be time too visit the booths, but you can also meet other ferret lovers and the speakers. You can also book for a personal meet and greet with one of the speakers. See 'Meet and Greet' (dutch). An auction will be held to raise funds for the much needed research into the medical needs of the ferret. Manny ferret lovers have donated items. The speakers will also donate a personal item to the auction.
The speakers
Bob Church Once again Bob Church will be present at the symposium. Bob Church is Zooarcheoloog in America. He not only knows a lot about ferret domestication and breeding(problems) He is also extremely enthusiastic about it. He knows how to sweep the public of their feet.
Drs Hanneke Moorman-Roest Hanneke Moorman –Roest is a ferret veterinarian at ferret clinic “Brouwhuis” She is “The ferret vetenarian “in Holland. For many years she has treated only ferrets and knows all the health problems of the ferret in the Netherlands.
Dr Nico Schoemaker Nico Schoemaker is a veterinarian from the Specialist team for “exotic Animals “at the Animal University in Utrecht. He graduated for his research on problems in the adrenal gland of ferrets. At this moment he is the organizer of the research into the alterative way to castrate ferrets.
Prof. Richard Ducatelle Dhr Ducatelle is a pathologist at the animal university in Gent (Belgium) He has done research into Helicobacter infections in several different animals, one being the ferret.
Drs Tannetje Koning Tannetje Koning is a holistic veterinarian she is devoted to the alternative medicine in animals. She also believes in the need for natural food for the carnivore

Tickets Ticket cost € 60,- each for members of Stichting de Fret (maximum two per member) for non members € 65,-. The tickets include coffee/tea and lunch

Talk about Ferrets The third Dutch Ferret Symposium
Maarssen- On Saturday the 28th of March 2009 the third Dutch ferret symposium will be held in the Pim Jacobs Theater in Maarsen. On this day, ferret knowledgeable people from Europe and America will be giving lectures, there will be many booths with ferret articles and an auction.
The lectures will be given by veterinarians Hanneke Moorman- Roest , Nico Schoemaker en tannetje Koning. Prof Richard Ducatelle from Belgium and bob Church from the USA. Subjects such as health, welfare and breeding ferrets will be the topic of discussion. Besides lots of booths with ferret articles and other ferret organizations, there is also an auction; the money from the auction will be donated to medical research in ferrets.
